Turf Monsters Show Out Big Time for the Sponsor on Chatham Night with 10-0 walk-off win!
The Monsters ended the game against the Bag Bandits with a final score of 10-0 in the top of the eighth inning. The winning run was a homer from Landon Godsey (Volunteer State Community College). That homer not only ended the game, but it completed the cycle for Landon!
Godsey hit for his second career cycle 8 days after completing his first one against the Tropics, Monday June 20th.
Last night against the Bag Bandits, he tripled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the fifth and homered in the eighth! Ending the game going four for five with three RBI’s.
Cooper Miles (Saint Leo University) also had a great game! He yarded in his third homer of the summer season in the bottom of the sixth. He ended the game going three for five with three hits and two RBIs.
PO Chris Gallagher (Wright State University) also made a debut on the plate and walked after a full count.
The team as a whole had a batting average of .351 with 13 its and 4 stolen bases.
Defensively, Jay Dill (Clemson University) shined on the mound. He pitched six innings and had 10 K’s.
On top of a dominating game from the Turf Monsters, it was also sponsor night! Chatham Hills residents where able to see the team they sponsor in action!
Rolling in on their golf carts, they, not only got to enjoy the awesome game, but also got to be apart of the game! From kids throwing the first pitch, to running the bases, it was fun atmosphere with great weather!
