Local Legends Overcome Snapping Turtles in Nightcap 

WESTFIELD, IND. – The Edge Rock Local Legends took home their first win of the season against the LIDS Snapping Turtles by a score of 7-1. The Local Legends were able to overcome an early 1-0 deficit in the first inning through an incredible pitching by committee style. The Local Legends were able to score seven through plenty of activity on the base paths and some timely hitting. Strong efforts on the mound by Dylan Steele (IU Kokomo), E.J. White (Transfer Portal), and Mark Goudy (IU Kokomo) helped keep the potent Snapping Turtles offense at bay in the final six innings of the game. 
 
With the victory, the Local Legends improve to 1-2 overall while the Snapping Turtles fall to 1-2. 
 
KEY MOMENTS

• OF JP Preston (IU Kokomo) got the Local Legends on the board in the second inning with a walk before eventually scoring on a wild pitch with two outs. 

• RHP EJ White (Transfer Portal) entered the game in the 3rd inning and made his presence known by commanding the strike zone for three consecutive innings giving up only two hits, allowing zero runs, and striking out three. 

• INF David Novak (Miami – OH) started the Local Legends big inning in the 4th with a single. Eventually scoring on a wild pitch, he was followed crossing the plate by Enas Hayden (Purdue Fort-Wayne) and Connor Gordon (Anderson University).

• C Rutger Poiry (Transfer Portal) was able to push the seventh and final run across the board in the 5th inning with an RBI groundout to shortstop.
