Explosive Hitting Leads the Tropics to Victory Over the Local Legends

With explosive hitting, the Tropics scored 9 in a victory over the Local Legends on Sunday night.

The scoring began in the second inning for the Tropics, after a shut down pitching performance in the first from Caleb Everson (Wabash College).

The first run scored on a single from Austin Reed (Univesity of Alabama Hunstville). Everson continued to dominate the Legends with 3 K’s to strikeout the side. 

 Three more runs scored in the third off of back-to-back-to-back singles from Keaton Mahan (Ohio State), Bradley White (South Suburban), and Connor Ostrander (Western Michigan). Seth Seniour (Olney Central) then brought in two runs with a double to right center.

 The Trops added on another in the fifth with a double by Chase Mason (Carl Sandburg) to which he would help his own case by scoring on a past ball to bring the score to 5-2.

On a mix of wild pitches and past balls in the sixth, 4 more runs score bringing the Tropics to a dominating 9-3 victory. Mitchell Hennebury (Lincoln Trail)  & Cody Jones (University of Indianapolis) closed out the game on the mound for the Tropics to seal the win.
