Local Legends Down the Park Rangers

It didn’t take long for the Park Rangers to score in this matchup as they manufactured a run with two outs in the top of the second inning. It was tough sledding for the Local Legends early, but they eventually found success with a big, four run inning in the bottom half of the fourth. 

The fourth stated with a single by #5 Clay Patton (Chapman), before he moved over on a groundout to second base. A wild pitch and a walk to #7 David Novak (Miami – OH) left the Local Legends with runners on the corners. An error helped #32 Steele (IU Kokomo) reach, scoring Patton to tie the game at 1-1. #22 Harrison (Wright State) was HBP to load the bases before back-to-back infield singles by #20 Hellman (IU) and #11 Chrisman (Purdue) scored two runs to make it 3-1. The Local Legends’ big inning ended with a bases loaded HBP by #3 Li (Charleston) to make it 4-1. 

Following a strong performance by the starter #10 Fremion (Saint Louis), #4 Holzworth (Butler) and #14 Hayden (Purdue Fort Wayne) threw five shutout innings to secure the second win of the season for the Local Legends.
