Local Legends Win at the End

The scoreboard did not show much for the Local Legends or the Snapping Turtled on Monday night, but the game was an entertaining one to say the least. The Local Legends defeated the Snapping Turtles for the third time this summer and found themselves with their first doubleheader sweep going 2-0 on Monday night.

Despite some offensive woes, the pitching and defense of the Local Legends carried the team to the win. Karl Meyer (MIT) got the start after a strong 7 strikeout performance through 6 innings of work. Offensively, the Local Legends struggled early but produced a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Parker Harrison (Wright State) started the inning with a HBP before with two outs in the inning.

Meyer settled in nicely throughout the middle of the game, carving up the Snapping Turtles lineup. Following his six innings of work, Clay Holzworth (Butler) made his third appearance of the season and got the win doing so. Holzworth made quick work of the Snapping Turtles in the top half of the 7th.

To cap off the game, Parker Harrison started the bottom of the 7th with a massive triple to the right-center gap. With 1 out in the 7th, Outfielder Jack Moroknek (Butler) singled over the right fielder to score Harrison and bring home the second win of the day for the Local Legends.
