The Tropics Top the Bomb Squad in Their Second Time Meeting

The Tropics top the Bomb Squad in their second time meeting this season. The Tropics offense continues to dominate in a 9-3 victory on Monday night.

Chase Mason (Carl Sandburg) was the MVP of the night going 2-3, including a 104 mph exit velo double, and catching all 14 innings of the Tropics double header.

Cody Jones (Univeristy of Indianapolis) started on the bump for the Trops and made quick work of the Bomb Squad picking up 7 strikeouts.

The scoring came for the Trops in the top of the fourth with an explosion of 8 runs. Bradley White (South Suburban) gets aboard with a walk, followed by Austin Reed (University of Alabama Hunstville) getting hit by a pitch.  A single from Kenneth Sugi (Kaskaskia Community College) loads the bases followed by back-to-back walks from Kyle Van Liere (Butler) & Brett Freiberg (Rock Valley College) scores some more. Chase Mason then singles to score two, followed by singles from Bradley White & Seth Seniour (Olney Cental), the Trops dominate the fourth inning making the score 8-2.

In the sixth, the Trops pick up an insurance run on a double from Chase Mason who helps his own cause by scoring.

The Tropics explosive offense continues to lead the league in runs scored, and they hope to continue as they take on the Moon Shots Tuesday night at 7:00 P.M.
