WESTFIELD, IN – The Trifectom Tropics took down the Academy Park Rangers 9-4 on Monday, July 5th. With this win, the Tropics move to 9-10 on the season.


The Tropics came into this game hot last night, scoring two runs in the first inning. Jake Hansen hit in the first run of the game with an RBI single down the right field line. Mikey Wyman made sure to plate another run for the Tropics, hitting a sacrifice fly to hit in Spencer Packard.

Spencer Packard added a run for the Tropics in the third inning, hitting an RBI double to score Nolan Bowser.

The Tropics did not stop scoring runs, as they plated two more runs in the sixth. Just like in the first inning, Hansen hit an RBI single to score a run, then AJ Poynter hit a sacrifice fly to score the second run.

To end the game, the Tropics scored four runs in the fourth. To start the rally off, Wyman scored on a wild pitch. After a walk to Zach Collins, Maalik Houston hit a line drive single to score Poynter and Joe Kido. The last run of the game came from Jackson Taylors ground out, which sent Zach Collins home.


Spencer Packard had another great day at the plate, going 3-4 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.

Jake Hansen keeps being productive at the plate, going 2-4 with a run, 2 RBIs and a walk.

Carter Lohman started for the Tropics and was a dominant force behind the mound. After five innings of work, he had 1 hit, no runs, 4 walks and 6 strike outs.


The Trifectom Tropics take on the Edge Rock Local Legends in a double header on Tuesday, July 5th. First game is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
